Intricacies Of Conducting Modern Military Operations

Only less than a century ago, the use of military might to acheive legitimate and illegitimate goals/designs was the most convenient way for nation states in particular against weak neighbouring or regional states. The British made an empire around the globe where the sun never used to set in the same era without any major nuisance for them at all. But with the advent of the current modern era communications network around the globe and introduction of high tech long rage weapon systems, the same old methods are not simple to be employed anymore to attain desired objectives by nation states. The use of force is still on the table but it comes with lot more intricacies than ever before. Foremost among them is the global public image and proving the legitimacy of cause to the global audience.

With new problems arrives new solutions. The principal solution to gain legitimacy to any aggression by a global power or it's protege like USA and Israel as a point in case is the use of global media by controlling it's corporate regimentation. All global powers like US, Russia, countries in the EU, Gulf and China employs a media and information mechanism spreading it's influence in every nook and corner of the world as per the directives of their sponsor states. Without doubt the US global empire currently leads in this game being the trend setters here and also the grand investors in shape of money and resources. Even  small nation states and aspiring regional powers invests and maintains  their state sponsor media machinery for the established practices by the global powers of controlling the domestic population over the last five to six decades.

The voice of independent media, social media and free lance journalist trying to bring out the actual perspective of the issues around globe is being heard by only those having resources and time to follow them and possess brains to separate fact from fiction. That leaves billions of global audience who only have time or resources left for "headline news" by the giant corporate media so ingress-ed around the globe through huge investments that it can not be replaced. However even this corporate media has to maintain a minimum level of credibility to attain the global audience who generate them their revenues and makes their cycle of  "infotainment" running profitably. This necessitates reporting of events which are public knowledge through others mediums of information technology. There is but off course, huge margins available to play with by reporting when and what in any particular style to convey the pro sponsor ordinary news into sublime propaganda. Having said that, it requires brains, money and dedicated resources. An intricate process to say the least.

The advent of modern weaponry like long range missiles and nuclear armed warheads also pose a very serious intricacy to wage a military operation against a foe affiliated with a nuclear power or against directly any nuclear power. Hence, we see an all out offensive starting with sanctions, clandestine activities, threats and military option on the table against states aspiring to achieve the nuclear power like Iran and North Korea. The world powers at current are in agreement when it comes to restraining any other nation state obtaining the nuclear status besides the  declared "Seven States"  and one non declared nuclear power. 

In the game of international relations it is always the national interest which prevails and forms the foremost objective in resolving any conflict by the particular state. Age old formula of "might is right" prevails but the state sponsors of smaller states and their alliances  matter the most in the outcome of  a conflict. Military option is employed considering and after addressing the intricacies as discussed above besides factors such as diplomatic compulsions and likely response of the enemy and her allies.

First step of any military operation in the modern era is hence to win the battle of propaganda and neutralize the opposing "information systems". This makes winning the "Info-war" as the primary task before and during an operation. Failing this at any time has got consequences for the rulers of a nation state at both international and domestic scenes. The fall of republicans in the US and their inability to regain government to date in the ultimate aftermath of Iraq war is a point in case to justify this assumption. Winning of Info-war at global and domestic level is the most intricate affair which has to be achieved by any nation state while conducting a military operation in modern era.

While appreciating a military operation plan, it is hence a necessity to address these intricacies in detail if the ultimate objectives of a military offensive is to be achieved. By successfully managing these intricacies nation states can get away with almost anything in our times. At the surface of it at least.      


















    

Chinese New Leadership_It's Effect On Global GeoPolitics

With Xi Jinping confirmation as the fifth generation Chinese Highest Leader, all analysts are continuously busy speculating the effects of this change. Let us consider first the facts here that, Xi Jinping is a leader who rose from the masses and earned the position he now enjoys through a self made profile over decades. He knows not to offer cakes to those short of bread. He is a moderate and humble man with a pragmatic approach towards issues. He acknowledged the issues of corruption and economic dependence on exports and promises to tackle them. This is surely good news for Chinese domestic scenario. He enjoys credible repute at international scenario being an open minded leader with flexible attitude.

 Having said that, it does not necessarily mean any major change in the Chinese global policies and it's march towards gaining the world power status.Being proposed and now confirmed Chairman of all powerful Central Military Commission, Xi Jinping oversaw the most exuberant and advanced display of military hardware at the Zuhai Airshow this month. China stunned the global audience in general and the US and EU defense industry in particular by offering the most advanced Air Weaponry for sale at prices not compatible by the latter group. China is also in the advanced stage of developing it's very own Stealth Jet, a weapon only possessed by the USA. 

China under XI Jinping is aiming to further grow it's industrial base and exporting advanced technologies to attain global dominance on the US and European model. This is what is expected to be the major task to be overseen and implemented in the decade Xi rules the world's second largest economy in her drive to become the first. This strategy will also see the rise of China as a global power broker and lead the world back to bipolar status by the end of this decade. 

Allies of China are in for a highly beneficial returns for their investments in China of that of time, money, loyalty and support. Xi Jinping will not only pursue the laid down goals of the Chinese global policy with vigor but will also bring about a fresh perspective in achieving these goals. The game of clandestine control of strategic energy routes to China will also see a Chinese upper hand with the US and NATO bogged down by two decades of war resulting in profits for corporates alone but losses for the Western Nations with rotten economies and lost lives in wars which otherwise ultimately resulted into Chaos and destruction for the region they fought in. China in the meantime pragmatically observed these developments and planned her own response when the time is ripe. This pragmatic approach brought not only credibility to China but also they(Chinese) preserved their economic and military power from a meltdown as that of NATO.

Xi Jinping is a realist who would concentrate his energies on the domestic issues facing the Chinese governance and critical economic measures for the uplift of masses left out in the economic rise of China. But at the same time he is expected to outstretch, the Chinese global influence while the US and EU are busy repairing their badgering economies and internal turmoil resulting from decades of meaning less wars. The Global Corporates are as usual expected to be on the side of winners here who makes them the max money, which makes China a choice but compulsory for them proved statistics of profits and losses, which is their ultimate God.  This will result in if not free than a very less obstructive path for Xi to lead the great Nation out of it's shell and into the global limelight less than 70 years it was liberated and united out of slumbering sleep.

                       

Morality Of PSYOPS.

Psychological operations or PSYOPS are planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.PSYOP is a component of information operations. PSYOP involves the careful creation and dissemination of a product message. There are three types of propaganda that are used to create these messages. They include White propaganda which is used in overt operations and Gray and Black propaganda which are used in covert PSYOP. White, Gray, and Black don't refer to the propaganda's content but rather the methods used to carry out the operation. The official government stance while propagated through electronic and print media is "White" PsyOps, while the ambiguous source of a propaganda product is called "Gray" PsyOps . Clandestine propaganda product is the one known as the "Black" PsyOps.   

Control, embedding and infiltration of electronic and print media is the most essential medium of conducting PSYOPS.  PSYOPs convey messages via visual, audio, and audiovisual media. Military psychological operations, at the tactical level, are usually delivered by loudspeaker, and face to face communication. For more deliberate campaigns, they may use leaflets, radio or television. Strategic operations may use radio or television broadcasts, various publications, airdropped leaflets, or, as part of a covert operation, with material placed in foreign news media. Clandestine services are used by states to infiltrate the foreign and domestic media by hook or crook to obtain the desired results through their hired and controlled mouth pieces.

PSYOPS though a modern day terminology is historically dated back to prehistoric times. Although the intensity and effectiveness of these operations are most pertinent in the post World War I era with the advent of modern media mechanisms. In current times, PSYOPS and it's importance is of most critical nature specially employed at the highest levels of Statecraft and International Relations. PSYOPS through it's most lethal weapon the Global Corporate Media is being utilized in shaping global public opinions and obtaining desired legitimate and illegitimate, both objectives by the World Powers. These PSYOPS controlling and diverting public opinions of the masses are used for at times strategical and other times for obtaining financial objectives. These Operations are also most effective in intimidating and at times isolating hostile states and institutions to those employing these PSYOPS.

The control of Global Corporate Media and it's affiliates is critical for launching and directing effective PSYOPS. In modern history the USA  is the most successful World Power employing and benefiting from the phenomenon of PSYOPS till date. USA government has commissioned the most elaborate multilayer ed and deeply ingress ed PSYOPS institutions backed by billion dollar budgets and under cover assets in the Global Corporate Media to include foreign functionaries around the world. Top Media Brands to include , CNN, NPR, FOX NEWS and alike have been confirmed by the independent media to be infiltrated by the US PSYOPS units and likewise (National Public Radio reported on April 10, 2000:
The U.S. Army's Psychological Operations unit placed interns at CNN and NPR in 1998 and 1999). . UK, China and Russian governments are also following suits at their own turfs but to no match anyone is with the PSYOPS empire created and operated by the US PSYOPS units. Hollywood owing to it's global appeal is also no exception when it comes to the US PSYOPS.

It is also a recognized fact that all Gray and Black PSYOPS are owner less when the times comes for their independent scrutiny. This facet alone breaks any linkage of these types of PSYOPS with any moral values or related terminologies. Less White PSYOPS which is rare compared to the other two forms and the methods employed towards the end means and goals the linkage is less and less morally acceptable and more and more the devil's advocacy. Hence morality and PSYOPS have got no linkage at all in 99 times out of 100 with each other. The mere use of these operations most often used by the principal US tactics for obtaining objectives not logically convincing leaves a huge question mark for any argument supporting these PSYOPS to be justified on any moral grounds. Same goes for States around the globe mostly fooling their own domestic population to achieve vested interests while employing these PSYOPS. Deceit and Deception are the pillars of PSYOPS so no comparison with Morality of this basically a war operation is justified. Quoting Kipling who wisely says that  "The first casualty of war is truth".

So if there is no morality related to PSYOPS than why is it the topic of this article? Simply because PSYOPS in these times are no more limited to battlefield or to obtain military objectives, but it is as of now being employed as a principal tool to achieve vested global economic and strategic goals by the US GLOBAL EMPIRE.  It is also under use as a opinion control mechanism by most governments across the globe to gain political objectives. Global Corporates are also using this tool to gain financial benefits and making and shaping the economies around the globe. In a scenario as such the use of PSYOPS without morality is the biggest SATAN's TOOL by his minions. BEWARE....................     

     

Who Is The Real Global Villain

The diplomatic posturing by Iran through the platform of Non Aligned Movement (NAM) is least to say having it's effects on the western bloc and their Middle Eastern protege Israel. What's most troublesome a  thought for the latter group is the inability or further delay in their assault plans at Iran due to the successful diplomatic coup by Iran in the shape of the NAM's latest episode. The Iranians deserve due credit for the aforesaid success.

It is indeed true that the Iranian designs to achieve the nuclear power and aggressive posture towards Israel is in continuation to the dream which reignited after the revolution at Iran. A dream which envisages glory and global power status like their past days of the Persian Empire. It is also a fact that the Iranians hegemonic designs for the middle eastern region in particular and rest of the world in general are despised by the wealthy Wahhabi Empire of the kingdom of Suadia Arabia, where it's rulers, the House of Saoud are putting in unlimited amount of finances to fight the Iranian Shia influences all over the world, in particular middle east and Pakistan. It is evident that this fight is bloody and lethal in nature. The Iranian defiance to support the ruling Shia clan of Bashr Al Asad at Syria and resultant Russian backing is also not being seen in kind by the Sunni majority in the Middle East, especially when Iran supports the Shia dictator being opposed by the Sunni majority of the country but most vocally and actively support the Shia population at Jordan in their fight against the Sunni king and his government in the name of "democracy". This hypocritical attitude is badly hurting the Iranian repute amongst the Muslim states in the region. The Turkish efforts to accept and advocate the American agenda in the Middle Eastern Region is also a direct result of such insolent behavior by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Having said all above and keeping the ground facts in view which includes the Israeli aggressive designs against the Iranian nuclear program backed by the US, the Islamic Republic of Iran looks in a thick soup here. The Iranian determination to retaliate against any move by Israel or US is commendable when seen as a tribute to their defiance to the super powers in defence of their proclaimed sovereign rights but is equally rather more worrisome a scenario for global stability. Clandestine operations by the Israelis backed by US are well underway against Iran in this direction which is off course being reciprocated by Iran in kind at the best of their capability. The ingress by western block led by Israel on ground is deep rooted and having it's desired effects on Iran but, still lacks any decisive force.The western controlled global media is day in and out proving and paving ways and opinions against Iran. To an average Joe, the global media mandated by their bosses  has like always created the desired effect of that of an evil monster, as and when he hears the word "Iran". The effect on a common man around the globe is on the surface the ridiculously high and rising petroleum costs and it's resultant fallout on the economies making the life of a regular Joe a nightmare to begin with.    

The question arises is, that in the light of all the above discussion does Iran qualifies to be the number one Villain in the Middle East as accepted as such by the majority of people??????

The answer to the above posed question is NO. Though Iran is neither considered nor is a saint in the realm of the world geopolitical scenario, the Iranians are not viewed by the majority of the Middle Eastern public and those around the world having some brains and access to uncensored information as the "top threat" to world peace and stability.

Having said that, very honestly if you have an insight to the mass public views, the top threat in the middle east in particular and the world in general is "Israel backed by US". The Israeli's self proclaimed right to maintain the only nuclear arsenal in the Middle East in defiance to the international laws and the American unconditional support through hook or by crook obtained by the Israelis is the number one threat to world stability, we can easily conclude. The Israelis cruel initiatives to bomb the Palestinians at will any time they wish to and her repeated assaults against Lebanon are being seen as the most critical villain like behavior by the masses around the globe, in particular at Middle East. The Israelis continuing Jewish settlements in the occupied territories is another thwart in any peace initiative between the Israelis and the Palestinians, hence the Muslim world. The aggressive military posturing by the Israelis and the religious fundamentalism is only having a tit for tat response by the rest of Muslim world. The situation only presents the doomsday scenario so frequently discussed by the end of the world philosophers and religious zealots of all three monolithic faiths who are related with the land of Israel by their beliefs and history.

The aim of this article is neither to blame Israel for her indifferent behavior backed the the USA, nor to support the insane rhetoric by the Iranians to wipe Israel off the world map. The main issue is to present a picture as to where this all fiasco being created by the Global Powers is leading the world to, which is chaos and destruction, less we give peace a "real chance".                   

View From The Domain

Today while praying the Jumma prayers at the local mosque at Islamabad, at the end of the congregation the Imam in the central prayers went political which is unusual for a mosque of such a posh neighbourhood i was saying my prayers at. The Imam simply blamed America for their involvement in Pakistan which is directly resulting in terrorist attacks by mercenaries like Pakistan's Kamra Airbase faced the day before. The Imam also prophesized that till the time the Americans won't disengage from our region, such attacks on the State of Pakistan won't seize. Now the strange part was the heads of almost all those almost a thousand mostly well educated and highly placed people present there nodding in agreement with the Imam. These people are the one who not only run the affairs of this nuclear armed country to some extent in their individual capacities but also their opinions carry weight in shaping the domestic and regional policies of this country.

The US global empire is fast loosing the battle for the hearts and minds of their domain like those at Pakistan in particular and rest of the Islamic world in general. They are at war in most of these countries with the hardliners with the help of the educated liberal lot. However, lately the same educated liberal lot are undergoing change of hearts due to the obvious US clandestine tactics to justify and enhance the use of force to acheive the end goals. The US global empire's managers continue to operate in text book vintage strategies insulting the intelligence of the the native observers of their client states. For instance one day the US Secretary of Defence Mr Penetta, a CIA cheif ex spook proclaims the nuclear assets of Pakistan could fall into the hands of the terrorists. Within short span of some hours at most a day highly trained and equipped mercenaries attack a Pakistani Airbase where Pakistanis are building their indigenous fighter Jets with the Chinese support. The attack completely fails to acheive any target with all nine highly trained mercenaries dead and one Pakistani Army soldier martyred however, within no time the Washington Post through their Islamabad based correspondant prints a story that nuclear assets present at Kamra Air Force Base were the target. What the .......... or what in the world the US embedded media and their bosses at Langely and Capital Hill are up to......?  Do they want the world to beleive that the Pakistanis are so naive to keep their nuclear assets at a base directly under terrorist threat as indicated by the Pakistani Intelligence a week earlier? besides the fact that there is no military need to keep any nuclear weapon at Kamra. Or it's the US desire to de nuclearize the Islamic republic, so strategically geo located between their newly found allies the Indians, Arabian Sea and the energy rich Central Asia.

Some prominent military and political analysts at Pakistan beleives and openly express their views about such incidents like the Kamra Air Base mercenaries terrorist attack as directly sponsored by the Indian American intelligence operatives working togather from the same basis at Afghanistan to soften up Pakistan before an all out assault. But such naive ventures they beleive will lead to only one logical conclusion, utter destruction and chaos of the entire region with Pakistan going for the nuclear option sooner than latter as their nuclear threshold dettoriates through the so called softening up by the Indians-Americans alliance. In their opinion it is also a discomforting fact for the consumption of the unholly Indo-American intelligence alliance that the Pakistani Nuclear assets are dispersed at sites across the country under fool proof security beyond the reach of their hired guns. In case of an eventuality, the Indians are sure to bite the dust before anyone else if Pakistan is assualted all out by a foreign invader like the US global empire or any of her cronies.

While the US global empire continously fails to realize the fact that it is they who are the reason for most of the militancy and terrorist activity directly or indirectly, Pakistanis casualties of this war on terror rise every day. With the rise in these casualty figure and the above stated American arrogance the Pakistanis are but forced to re think their beleifs and concepts effecting their motivation to fight a war they now mostly consider not their own. The Pakistan Armed Forces who are fighting this war and taking heavy toll for the same on daily basis are if, isolated without the native public support which is happening right now will be no longer able to pursue these operations at their western front. Sooner or latter if the US global empire does not make a drastic change in their current policies in the region, even the remotely controlled leaders of their domain won't be able to contain a situation where the Pakistanis will entirely stop beleiving in this cause. This might trigger a domino effect ......................................... 

Effects of Sino-Pak Relations On Global Power Dynamics- What Holds The Future

This is my fourth and final article in the series about the subject in which I intend to analyse in my humble opinion the future of this dynamic bilateral relation between the Peoples Republic of China and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the effect this relatioship bears over the regoinal and global geopolitical contours. Earlier we discussed the vibrant history, forced and voluntary anology and the happening proceedings of this diverse relationship in detail. Although no one individual can present a prophesy about what holds the future for China in particular and the Sino-Pak relation in general but the signs are there for everyone to read and analyse painting a picture of what is the most likely outcome of the complete scenario. Let us first discuss these open and hidden signs before we present any prognosis. The signs or observations essentially effecting any future outcome evident and obscure under the curtain are as appended below:-

> The Chinese although are a regoinal military and global economic power house but in no way matches the conventional military might of the sole super power they intend to compete. This difference needs atlest five decades to be bridged but by than the US Global Empire might have further advanced in these feilds. It's a tough race for the Chinese least to say and interstingly enough, they know it clearly where they stand. Considering this fact the US global enterprise is a tough nut to crack when they have decided to forestall the Chinese designs for a superpower status. Same goes for the Chinese desire to seek energy corridor from the middle east through Pakistan. The Chinese persistance is but a question of credibility it seems for which they have to remain engaged with their Pakistanis partners hence the projects they are in to already will be sustained by them with a perespective towards the distant future.

> The Sino-Pak relatioship is born out of necessasity and by far the most, the Chinese have the profitable edge so far when it comes to benefitting out of joint ventures like the Sandak copper project at Baluchistan or the magnaminius defence contracts the Chinese have with Pakistan. On the other hand the US is funding the Pakistani military machine and the government since decades with billions of dollars buying influence in the Pakistani power houses and soceity which is a far off goal for the Chinese administration owing to prevalent language, cultural and religious barriers between both the countries to begin with culminating on the huge budget difference between the USAID and the Chinese financial assistance towards Pakistan.

> The Chinese administration's inability or the lack of the same due to their communist manifest to understand and appeal the religious foundations of Pakistan is a divide deeper as much as the proclaimed friendship of both the countries. Serious Chinese efforts to understand and bridge this great divide is lacking at the moment it seems. On the other hand The US think tanks and operatives on ground are wise enough even here to portray and capatilize upon the religious freedom they offer to the Muslims living at the US homeland and the monolithic religoin appeal which binds the Christians and the Muslims in a bond togather. Irresepective of the post 9/11 Muslim hatred and at times sheer persecution of the Muslims by the US and allied nationals the US administration successfully highlighted the positives hiding the negatives in the Global War on Terror which followed the tragic incident.

> The Pakistani government is essentially under the US influences and only can divert towards the Chinese shores with limited latitude. The Chinese global economic might is directly propotional to the fiscal well being of the USA's economic health in which the the former is one of the biggest stake holder. 

> The Chinese geopolitical position in the Asia is very sound indeed but it's power potentials yet have limitations to flex their muscles to the max keeping the US influences in the regoin. The geopolitical alliances like the SCO are a step towards the evident Chinese future designs but there potential will take decades to bloom to it's desired optimum level. The observer status which Pakistan holds on the specific forum ( SCO ) is countered by the Indian presence there.


These signs discussed above provides a certain basis for the predictions at best for what holds the future for the Sino-Pak relations and it's effects on the global power dynamics. The key points in this regard are as described below:-

> The Chinese will refrain from openly confronting the US strategy in South Asia for at least four to five decades to come. This will include opening any new military base at Pakistan or any strategic project. However the ongoing Sino-Pak military, technological, economic, cultural and associated relationship will continue growing owing to the vibrant history and physical attached boundaries between both the countries.

> The Sino-Pak partnership in opposition to the Indo-US alliance will grow even further and tit for tat attitudes will prevail due to the inherent Pakistani animosity towards the Indians and the Chinese regoinal hegimomic designs which directly confronts with the same designs of the Indians. The trade ties between India-Pakistan and China will however flourish and provide a respite in the nuclear loaded regoin of the world.

> The Sino-Pak relations will continue to grow however, with inherent limitations till the time the Chinese decide to ultimately flux their muscles in four to five decades time. At such a moment this bilateral partnership will be the most valuable and profitable investment by the Pakistanis ever since their inception six decades ago.

> The energy corridor as envisaged by the Pakistanis from their land uptill China may not materialize owing to the harsh terrain conditions but the Chinese will establish their strong foreign military presence at Pakistan to secure their interests in the middle eastern and south and south east asian regoins. Most likely deployment areas would be the Arabian Sea shores of Pakistan.

> The Chinese influence on the Pakistani power dynamics will grow further in decades to come with the US confronting each and every Chinese move here to retain the critical access to the energy rich central asian republics (CARs) corridor accessible most easily through Pakistan. Pakistan in the meantime will remain subserviant to the power politics of Both China and the US benefitting and paying the price of the clandestine activities related to such power struggles at the same time. The regoin will see futher turmoil mostly and less of peace and normal law and order situation in particular for the Afghanistan-Pakistan-CARs regoin.

> The Sino-Pak relationship will play a pivotal part in shaping the future power dynamics of Asian regoin in particular while resultantly effecting the global scenario in gereral in times to come. It may take as stated four to five decades but it is an "assesment of a novice" please do note who beleives in divine interventions..................................................................     

Story Of An American Dream

Ali could not beleive his luck, rather he was dumbstruck while the huge black guy shoving his shiny 9mm Beretta 92FS against his face asking for cash on him stood in the dark of the night getting impatient by the second. It was a dramatic and most undesired end to an enchanting evening he had spent with her class mate Laila, a MBA student like him at the American University from Lebonan and this encounter was taking place at none other location  but the American University Park at Washington DC. Laila was equally shocked by this aggression but seemed under control. God knows what sparked the mind of Ali, frustation of not having any cash on him or the need to prove his guts to his girlfriend when Ali suddenly picked up a midsize stone at his footstep out of a rockery and hit it directly at the black guy. His target caught the black guy right in the face only after he had he had pulled the trigger of his 9mm. The bullet hit Ali in the chest and he fell while Laila could not control her hysterical scream witnessing the scene. The black guy just ran out towards the darkness. Laila called 911 and tried helping poor Ali, who was evidently having trouble breathing while he went unconcious.

The ambulance reached the sibley memorial hospital within no time. The Emergency staff at the hospital took over from there and started an all out effort to recover Ali who's right lung had been punctured by the bullet. His condition was highly critical. The doctors started the procedure upon Ali. It could be either ways from here for Ali considering the nature of the injury. He was hanging in there till than.

United States of America is the leader of the world with the strongest military, freedom and quality of life people from around the world dream of having. The lifestyle of Americans is the dream millions of humans around the globe want to live. The "American Dream" is not merely a slogan but an obsession for countless around the globe. The facade of this dream however shows the rossy picture or is deliberately seen as such by the aspirants of living this dream.  It is most true that USA is a land of opportunity irrespective of race and creed unlike any other place in the world with success stories in huge abundance for the native people of the those setllers who did succeed and have beaten the odds living the American dream. Their stories are truely inspiring and proves the merits of struggle and knowledge in the land of level playing feild with equal opportunities they call America. It is the sole current superpower of the world. The rise of the gaint known as the USA is based upon embracing multicultures and races who participated in her growth at each step. However with the  diverse power and population also came associated problems. The USA, few know is the country also with the highest crime rate in the world. Almost double that to the next on the list, which is surprisingly UK. There seems to be an intimate connection between, muticulturism, economic growth and crime rate if we study the top ten countries in the crime rate index around the globe being USA, UK, Germany, France, Russia, Japan, South Africa, Cananda, Italy and India. Well these are however a risk and price most willing to live the American dream agree to take and pay, so did Ali. So the crowds of American Dream's inspired aspirants grow by the day till todate ready to take their chances. But when the dream shatters after hard hitting the realities for those who are not skilled and sharp enough, they turn towards making easy cum illegal money for a living ultimately ending up in the jails or hell only after shooting further the ridiculously high crime rate of the US. 



Ali belonged to a middle class Pakistani family living in the city of Lahore. His father is a retired government servant living in Johar Town, a newly built housing soceity of the city. It took almost all the life savings of Ali's father to make the house they now live in. Ali's siblings include two younger sisters and an elder brother who is doing post graduation at the Punjab University, aspiring to join the civillian superior services of Pakistan, a dream for any Pakistani youth for the power and status it is attached with the job. Ali was a top student at his high school known as intermediate college at Pakistan. He is a typical youth of urbanized educated class of Pakistan. He was an ardent lover of Hollywood movies, a habit he picked up from his father. U2, the American rock band is his favourite music while his elder brother prefers Brayn Adams like their father besides the classic American pop. His father was more than willing and happy to send Ali for studies at the USA which he could only manage after selling his ancestral village land, his last real estate possesion beside the house they lived in. The reason Ali's father went to the last extent to ensure Ali's admission and study at the USA is the dream every educated man sees for himself if not, than for his children to have a western education and if possible a permenant job there with the residency. The phenemenon is fuelled and supported by the American dream which is at the heart of majority of Pakistanis like that of peaple around the developing world and the middle east. Due credit is certain for the US global empire for keeping the dream alive at times as such through both propoganda but mostly by real time quality efforts for a life worth living at their homeland.

It was almost noon when Ali's father received the call from the New York. It was Najeeb, Ali's roommate at the American University of the Washington calling to break the news. Ali he told could not survive the shooting which was also a news for his father. While he was narrating the details, Ali's father collapsed on the sofa beside the phone and could not beleive what he was being told. The cry of anguish from the father's throat is what caught the attention the Ali's elder brother. He rushed towards his father who handed him the phone. The devastating news also blew his heart apart.

The dead body of Ali arrived the next week at the Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore. Ali was burried under earth by the father who cherished his life and wanted to live the dream he shared by and through his son Ali , an "American Dream".

Democracy In The Developing World

In modern world the name of democracy,it's virtues as adovocated and fought for by the iconic figure of Aung San Suu Kyi is an ideal we are led to beleive by the international media of the so called free world for the fight to freedom and democratic values. With much hype and all out support by the western democracies, the said lady is now in power at her home country, Myanmar. A dream come true it was for democracy advocates arond the world with the rise to power of Aung San Suu Kyi. Yet today, ironacally her government is allowing a mass genocide in their country based upon racism as witnessed by the entire world. Unfortunately, the international community cannot react appropriately to these massacres, due to obvious embarresments. The most galling of all is Aung San Suu Kyi, who received the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought in 1990 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991, for her struggle against the junta rule, and has exhibited a hypocritical attitude toward this tyranny. She first tried to brush aside the matter, saying, “This is a very complicated and fuzzy matter.” But upon persistent questioning, she said, “Muslims may be given ‘permanent settler’ status, but they should not be accepted as citizens of Myanmar,” and the disgrace of her words are etched in history. This fact only proves the saying of "Edmund Burke" in most clear terms about democracy:

"In a democracy, the majority of the citizens is capable of exercising the most cruel oppressions upon the minority"

The western model of democracy is commendable when it comes to it's implementation in country states with high literacy rates having a sence of this system and it's functioning. However in countries with low literacy rates and poor economies, the democratic form of government is at most a proven faliure. In countries such as the third world states the democratic system of governance where implemented is being exploited to justify mass corruption, genocides and promotion of specific vested interests. The masses are the direct victoms of naked corruption eating the very roots of their existence in the name of democracy in these republics supported by the developed world under the notion of democracy. The illeterate populations of these states under the illusion of a democracy continues to live on and as a result being exploited day in and day out by their elected leaders who are mostly shameless and possess morals only suiting their illicit desires. These leaders are not only expendable but also easily corruptible and hence best suits the corporate empires of the global powers lead by the US global empire in their "quest for spreading democracy". This mockery of a system was best described by the graet philospher " George Bernanrd Shaw" when he says that:

"Democracy subsitutes election by the incompetent many for appointment by the corrupt few"

Democracy is continously failing the peaple in the third world countries. The illeterate poor masses of the developing world gives way to their corrupt leaders to form governments by cheaply selling their votes in a fundamentaly flawed electoral process. These corrupt politicians after investing their illgotten money in the elections gets bussy in serving their own personal intersets and that of their paymasters. The result is what we see in the shape of everyday suffering of the peaple in one way or the other of such like facade of democracies in countries like, Myanmar, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Bangladesh and their alikes. Infact in these countries the remotely foreign induced and backed democracies are an extension of the dictatorship which is worse if not better than the former form of governments there. It won't be to pessimistic an analysis to say that if these so called democracies continue to function, rather dysfunction in their current mode, the end result will be the retransformation of these states to absolute dictatorship once again. The signs are very much evident in the shape of the fascist attitudes of the third world leaders of the democracies where a time has to come when there will be nothing more left to plunder and the human tragedy that will follow will engulf the complete world in this era of globolization.

The solution to this fiasco is country specific and has to be tailor made for every regoin of the world where the dysfunctional democracies are operating. In this regard some of the essential suggestions are  enumerated as below :-
> Transperant and concious electoral processes. A tough ask in developing countries, but utmost important ingredient indeed. The UN has a role to play here in the conduct and educating the masses.
> Transperacy and accountability of the elected leaders at international standards must be ensured. Again easier said than done but most essential factor for any healthy democracy. Unfortunately the developing world countries lacks any such mechanism in true sence resulting in the fiasco their corrupt leaders have put their contries in to.
> Abolishing of safe heavens for the corrupt leaders of these countries in the western world where they hold huge bank accounts and properties with the looted money from their countries. An idealist thought in a scenario where such specific situations are used to exploit and earn concessions for their business houses and geopolitical goals from these corrupt leaders by the western governments. But if disastor has to be averted than the western governments must take this direly needed step for the sake of humanity.
> Democratic form of governments must be confirming to the cultural heritages and traditions of the specific country like those in Japan and Israel for instance.
> Literacy rate of these countries needs to be dramatically increased through formal and informal means

The debate over democracy as the basic form of government and it's virtues is going on for centuries now. But the critics against this form failed to provide any valid alternatives. Democracy itself is far from the perfect governance solution, however attached with it is a feeling of freedom and paticipation in ruling thy life for a commoner..................................



  







   

 

 

Tragedy, Not So Divine

If not all than almost all the wars fought ever since the recorded history of mankind on the planet earth has got a religious angle attached to it in it's very essence. Even the modern day warefare fought over various issues may it be on nationalistic or ideological basis, there is a deep rooted religious connection to them all. All the divine books teaches and orders their followers to fight for their just rights and against any oppression which is interperated by the "Men of Gods" proclaimed by the men themselves to best suit their own and their masters agendas and interests. The result is a never ending story of war and carnage, written by the blood of those who become the cannon fodder of these wars till date.


The tragic saga was initiated the day Adam and Eve were punished and Satan pledged revenge to mankind for the disgrace he suffered owing to them. There is very less divine reason but material for sure to all this bloodshed and carnage as the mankind continues to fight amongst themselves and perish into oblivion.The irony however comes with the realization that all of these souls are dying mostly for their beleifs in which they consider themselves to be rightous and just. But wait a moment here and let's see the motives of the kings and the kingmakers for they are the ones who make the soldiers shed blood and die while the latter beleive it to be their patriotic cum religious duties to protect their homeland, families, honour and property. The ultimate human goals sadly as always have remained the same over centuries to date, "Money", "Land" and "Women". Now go over any war ever fought, you will be able to associate one or all of the goal stated above with their history.


Mankind's beleif in the divinity and their commitment to follow their respective religons is the most exploited trait of the devil himself and his followers forcing them to shed blood and fight on amongst themselves at mass scales uptill this very day. This weakness of men was noted by those in power long ago and has been utilized ever since best suiting their vested interests. At times even the devil himself gets amazed at the audacity of those sons and daughters of Adam, willingly or unwillingly following him, while they manipulate the divine words to create divine tragedies. Yet the human innocence keeps on being stabbed in the name of "Thy Lord", who has a design we all or lets say most of us beleive for us, every step, every way and all along our history. But the logical conclusion should and must be justice for all. Yet only "He" knows "His" divine designs.


But the fact remains, that "He, the Divine Master", who created us all and guides us through Prophets also gave us the power of "choice". The choice as to how we should lead our lives. The choice between right and wrong, evil and good. This very choice makes us human, the creation of the "Divine Lord" like none other we know. The best creature by any regard on this planet. Than why should we choose to be a dummy or zombei? Why should we follow the path dictated or planted in our minds by the devil and his followers in the most philosphical way with sophistication to enslave us? Why should we not research and take time to think before abrubtly making up our minds and follow the crowds lead by the greed of few in power having made their pact with the devil or being mislead themselves? Why should we fight on? Why should we not make peace, the most advocated virtue of the divine scriptures? Why to keep on creating this tragedy not so divine??????     

Cost Of Hospitality

Pakistan is the name of a country associated with the bad guys in the world today thanks to the develped countries media resultantly their citizens. They tend to recognize the country through extremism, religious fundamentalism, militancy and nuclear armed fanatics, labels, put on Pakistan by the so called "independent media" of the free world. Very few people around the globe however, are conversant with the fact that Pakistan is a country now in it's fourth decade hosting the world's largest refugee population amounting to around "3 million Afghan Refugees". Half of these refugees are registered with the Pakistani government as legal refugees while the other half remains as illegal migrants at Pakistan. The UN termed the Pakistani Nation as the most hospitable country in the world for the refugees few years ago. But the irony here is the shame that those educated enough at Afghanistan today, mostly fantasizers of the western way of life and their proteg'es don't realize this very fact while in their feverish Pakistan bashing about which they go on and on in their media and elsewhere. The price of hosting this largest migrant refugee population in the world is devastating while it plays havoc with the Pakistani economy, sociology, law and order and the it's very demography. There have been a number of atempts by the UN to resettle the refugees back at Afghanistan, however in essence all such efforts have failed as even the repartriated refugees fleed back across the border. Most recently the government of Pakistan has decided to call it quits and terminate the refugee status of the Afghan poulation by the end of this year.

The influx of Afghan refugees started in 1979 with the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The trend continued uptill 1999 due to the civil war at Afghanistan and the brutal Taliban rule's attitude towards the "Hazara Population". The result of this mass human influx coupled with the "Afghan Jihad" saw the introduction and rise of the "Klashinkov Culture" at Pakistan. The illegal migrants and also some registered refugees started operating illegal supply racket of quality Russian Arms like the Klashinkov assualt rifles or AK-47 to the Pakistani underground market. The drug trade also flourished primarily due to the aforementioned refugee network and the law and order situation detoriated like a fall from the precipice as a result. The American funded Global Jihad at Afghanistan to contain the Soviet threat saw the militrization of mass population and easiest access to advanced weaponary. The effects of this Global Jihad, refugees influx and that of foreign mercenaries called "Mujahedeens" than and reffered to as "Extremist Militants" now from around the Muslim world by the western world, on the Pakistani soceity left not only scars  but wounds so deep, they are bleeding todate. What Pakistan gained was access to unlimited wealth, but that of very few families in the civil-military alliance of Zia regime supporting and channelling the US money and weapons to the Mujahedeens. Pakistan also winessed the rise of "Mullah power" funded by the US Dollars for Jihad and armed by their very weaponary with "Jalal ud Din Haqanni network" at the forefront, of whom the US/NATO are so critical of today. These Mullah with their newly found power thanks to the US finances through their corrupt partners ruling Pakistan turned their barrels towards the US/NATO and the Pakistani state itself. Here again the Afghan refugees became the most convenient partners in crime to this newly found "Mullahcrasy" of Pakistan. The services of the Afghan refugees were and still are always easily availible for hire at dirt cheap rates for mercenary role, as a suicidal bomber, for kidnapping purposes and for any role you want to buy a human being for.

In a country of 150 million people the influx of such cheap labour, brings about a competition hardly sustainable by the local population who are not used to living in shacks and without any utilities. The UN also directly supports these refugees by providing food and shelter free of cost, a facility not availible to the indigenous poor population. In small and medium businesses this competition also ousted many local businessmen who were not having the support of cheap/free labour. The most recent transit trade agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan is also haunting the local businesses and industry at Pakistan where the Afghan refugees network first import goods duty free at Afghanistan via Pakistan and smuggle the same back to Pakistan hence providing almost all modern amenities from Juicer machines to LED TVs and anything you can think of at rates  30 to 40% less than the local made/ legally imported brands.

The repartriation of these refugees is a very tough task cosidering all the above discussion besides the fact that most of these refugees are unwilling to return to their native country voluntary. While the impact of these refugees is at most negetive from the Pakistani perespective, the situation as whole presents a human tragedy associated with refugees and the children of war around the globe. Pakistan in the meantime after three decades of hospitality paid at the expense of the native population demands an end to the saga.  

The aforediscussed situation also leads to the exploitation of the refugees which mostly goes unchecked due to their allien status. The abundant labour force in the shape of these refugees at one hand provides cheap labours to the construction industry at rates as low as 3/4 dollars for a day's labour but also becomes the reason for job loss of the local labourers who are not willing to be exploited as such.    

Effects of The Sino-Pak Relations On Global Power Dynamics- (Proceedings)

There is a group of pakistani observers, mostly US educated and at Pakistan inspired  by the western values who beleive that the Chinese rise to power will see the demise or disaster  of all it's neighbouring countries including Pakistan. The most intellectual prediction they come up with while their drawing room/personal discussions is the fear that the future Chinese Nation brought up under the one child policy will become the reson for such a disaster. As per their observations the Chinese generation being brought up under this specific policy are over pempered by their families being their only child and are not learning how to share while they grow. This breed as per them due to the stated reason, when come to age and in a decision making role will be ruthless and spread the Chinese hegmony with imputiny around the regoin and the globe. A view as such is valid to some extent, I agree, but not entirely credible. Firstly not all of this generation at China may turn out to meet the prediction by these analyst at Pakistan and in the west. Secondly this policy of one child per couple at the PRC may not remain forever. Lastly even if the worst fears of this group advocating such a scnerio comes true, the Pakistani nation while continuing this present relatioship will be most likely the partners in the Chinese rise or hegmony and least likely an opponent or a hurdle for the Chinese.

Another very frequently quoted abnormality in this  bilateral relationship as per the same above discussed group is the difference of faiths ( religons ) or the abscence of the same in China replaced with their brand of Socialism as the way of living rather than Islam at Pakistan as the guiding priciple ruling the lives of the masses. The very assumption of this comparison while trying to associate the Muslims with their Christians counterparts hence the west ignores the capatilist system the Christian/Western soceities are based upon which is a complete contradiction to Islam. In this regard the socialistic policies of China bears more resemblence to the basic way of socioeconimc lifestyle as per Islam. Language barrier between both the countries is a major issue recognized and being worked upon by both sides. While English is a common language of both the countires for communication for the majority including a teaching medium for professional studies at China for the Pakistani students, real time fast paced efforts are successfully underway for training both countries young professionals in learning each other's languages. China has as usual taken the lead in this aspect as well with thousands of Chinese Urdu speakind diplomats and corporate officials deputed at both the countries. The Chinese official broadcaster "Radio China" runs a regular Urdu service as well. At Pakistan's National University of Modern Languages (NUML), the Chinese department is the biggest with maximum number of students in the university.

The ongoing commitment as displayed by the Chinese and Pakistanis in enduring the Sino-Pak friendship is beyond doubt as the following facts suggest:-

> Over 500 Chinese nationals have been killed/abducted at Pakistan(where more than 10000 Chinese professionals are at work, highest numbers of foreigner professionals at Pakistan from any country) by militant groups traced to be operating from Afghanistan in recent past linked with certain foreign intelligence agencies. The Chinese while waiting to actively confront these groups have instead replenished their manpower and showed an enduring commitment to the projects they are working upon in Pakistan.

> Pakistan irrespective of US pressure and displeasure consult their Chinese partners before taking any major strategic decision effecting the regoin. The first step for any Pakistani Leader before embarking upon a tough ride is to seek assurance from Chinese Leadership for their advice and support as evident from the most recent exchanges of highest level dignitaries of both countries. In this way Pakistan's foreign policy is greatly influenced by Chinese designs and aspirations much per the liking of the grassroot public at Pakistan. US influences on Pakistan's foreign policy are a fact but a matter of enforced obedienc through the web of the debt cycle and US dollars in aid so desperately required for the repayments of their loans. The policies enforced by the US global empire thus are hated and seen with disgust by the Pakistani public.  Hence the turn towards China is more democratic and fast paced than before at Pakistan in their deep desire for a global partner other than US as famously desired by President Ayub Khan of Pakistan while writing his book, "Friends Not Masters".

> Pakistan's role in the regoin based upon it's geostrategic location is a prime asset for the Chinese in times to come after the US/NATO disengagement from Afghanistan. At present the Chinese official presence at Pakistan is one of the largest anywhere abroad mainland China and is increasing by the day.

> The Chinese aspirations in partnership with the Russians to see SCO (Shangai Cooperation Organizatio) as a major global player in particular at the CAR (Central Asian Regoin/Republics) in future scenario needs the active participation by Pakistan in which they are happy to oblige. The visit by Chinese foreign minister and the Russian head of foreign policy for the CAR to Islamabad most recently is the link of the same ongoing process.

> The large number of Pakistani students at the Chinese universities and their ever increasing figures is an indication regarding the future of this bilateral relationship and the resultant effects on the regoinal/global power dynamics. The uniqueness of this relatioship is based upon the public support of both the country's youth which holds the key to the future of these ties.

> The joint military exercises between China and Pakistan are forming to be a regular training feature of both the countries armed forces. This cooperation coupled with the high tech military hardware joint ventures between both partners indicate towards "what holds the future" for this partnership. The two militaries combined together presents the most formidable nuclear armed force in Asia and globally which can physically influence or threat to do so in the diverse Asian regoin, in particular South Asia and the CAR at any given time.

> The Chinese space programe which also actively aid and support the same of Pakistan is helping Pakistan launch their indigenous sattellites in the space. The programe is by far and most a success at huge magnitude compared with that of India, whose communication sattellite to their embarresment was found  in the Indian Ocean while the Indian media was bussy reporting viewing "sharks in sea water at some distant planet" by the same sattellite. The effect of this technological cooperation and cooperation in the feild of sophisticated weaponary not only make both China and more so Pakistan interdependent on each other in times to come but also strenghten the military-econmic complex and their influence in the Asian regoin in near future leading to the global canvas in time.

> The Sino-Pak relations in the economic field are more pronounced than ever before in the proceeding bilateral business scenario. With China being the "factory of the world" it is pakistan importing the bulk of it's needs at most affordable rates from China. Chinese are benefitting from the huge copper deposits at Pakistan they have the contract to explore and share the earnings with Pakistan. This unique physical access in an ongoing project is not granted so far to any other foreign country by the Pakistanis. Independent sources reveal the presence of such rare minerals at pakistan to be one of the biggest unexplored reserves in the world. It is hence, in the Chinese interset to remain engaged in the regoin for yet another benefit.

In the fourth and final article of this series we will look into the future prospects of this bilateral relation and it's impact on the regoinal and subsequently global power dynamics and discuss in detail as to "what holds the future".....................   

Effects of The Sino-Pak Relations On Global Power Dynamics-2(Analogy)

This is a continuation to the same subject in my last article i published which discussed the history  and evolution of the strong Chinese-Pakistan bilateral ties. The analogy of this relationship spreads to few basic factors as innumerated below:-

> Need to form a regional alliance  to counter the Indian influences.
> Development and use of the strategic Silk Route( Karakorum Highway ) From the Arabian  Sea      right upto Xingjuang.
> Military/Economic Cooperation
> Historical Relevance Supporting Each Other's geopolitical designs.
> Diplomatic Cooperation at International forums

 Present day China is a mighty republic with huge clout over the world power dynamics through it's huge monetary investments around the globe and a growing modern military/space programe. The history of unquestionable support in the initial phase of this bilateral relationship by Pakistan and continued strong relationship morally enforces upon China to support the Pakistani positions at International Forums like the UN, in particular the UN's Security Council where China holds the permenant member status with a "veto power".     

On the other hand the Pakistani geostrategic position provides  unique access to it's biggest ally China, not only to the Middle East through the Arabian Sea but also a more direct route to the Central Asia via Afghnistan. The militarily strong Pakistan equipped mostly now by Chinese arms presents also a formidable ally to keep the huge economy of India at bay with her hegmonic designs for the region backed by her newly found strategic partner, the US.

No one must naively mistake that the Chinese do not understand the US designs for the regoin where they are practically supporting India to contain Chinese ever increasing influence in the regoin. In fact the American designs are interperated by the Chinese as well as the Pakistanis deep within as an effort to create a counterweight to China in the regoin. Hence the Sino-Pak allaince finds yet another anology to thrive on and fight the conspiracy as they see to destabilize Pakistan and block the corridor availible to China to the Arabian Sea and beyond. The Pakistanis want China not only to operate the Gawader Port like innumerous other projects but also to further invest in the their infrastructure projects they direly require.

The Chinese human rights records may not be near ideal as per the western strandards but at Pakistan the strict fiscal discipline and the developement policies of China leading them to their rise of economy and power are veiwed with awe inspired attitudes. The Chinese model is an example of success quoted by the Pakistanis more than often in their planning commision meetings. Chinese firms are gaining real good business in Pakistan and other Muslim countries through their Pakistani projects in infrastructure, industry, power sector, military and the latest trend of pakistani private students seeking professional degrees at China.

The anologies in the Sino-Pak bilteral ties are expected to grow further with time. The Relationship hence will see many a turns towards further higher level of interaction leading to interdependence. In coming articles I would discuss the concerns of the regoinal and global players they have and effect this bilteral relationship. We will also see as to how these concerns are being portrayed and taking shape in this regoinal canvas of Asia. At the same time it would be intersting to analyse some of the very hidden fears within Pakistani elite regarding the future Chinese aspirations and designs. 
   

Effects of The Sino-Pak Relations On Global Power Dynamics-1(History)

Sino-Pak bilateral relations began in 1950 when Pakistan was among the first countries to break relations with the Republic of China on Taiwan and recognize the People's Republic of China while Pakistan itself was in third year of it's existence . Following the 1962 Sino-Indian War, both countries have placed considerable importance on the maintenance of an extremely close and supportive relationship. The bilateral relations showed an increase of magnanimous proportions in this period. The PRC has provided economic, military and technical assistance to Pakistan and each considers the other a close strategic ally. 

Bilateral relations have evolved from an initial Chinese policy of neutrality to a partnership that links a smaller but militarily powerful nuclear armed Pakistan, partially dependent on China for its economic and military strength, with China attempting to balance competing interests in the region. Diplomatic relations were established in 1950, military assistance began in 1966, a strategic alliance was formed in 1972 and economic co-operation began in 1979. China has become Pakistan’s largest supplier of arms and its third-largest trading partner. The diverse strategic military alliance of recent boasts of cooperation in Civilian Nuclear Program, JF-17 Multipurpose Fighter Jet project, Missiles development programs, guided missiles frigates, Main Battle Tank joint production, road and rail link construction, civil social development programs at Pakistan and the most controversial yet operational Gawader deep water Sea Port project financed and built by the PRC. Gawader deep sea port shows the intention of China in maintaining the historic bilateral ties to a new level of cooperation in times to come. The Gawader deep sea port also has the potential of extending the Chinese influence to the middle east in times to come ( A scenario not at all as per the liking of the US Global Empire due to obvious reasons ) China and Pakistan also share close military relations, with China supplying a range of modern armaments to the Pakistani defense forces in addition to above discussed projects.   

China is a pillar of Pakistan's foreign policy. China supported Pakistan's opposition to the Soviet Union's intervention in Afghanistan and is perceived by Pakistan as a regional counterweight to NATO/US. China supports Pakistan's stance on Kashmir while Pakistan supports China on the issues of Xinjiang, Tibet, and Taiwan. These policies of both countries alone speaks volume about the analogy between the interstate relations of these countries. Chinese cooperation with Pakistan has reached economic high points, with substantial Chinese investment in Pakistani infrastructural expansion projects. Both countries have an ongoing free trade agreement. Pakistan has served as China's main bridge between Muslim countries. Pakistan also played an important role in bridging the communication gap between China and the West by facilitating the 1972 Nixon visit to China. The relations between Pakistan and China are described in an official stance by both the government's foreign offices as "higher than mountains deeper than oceans stronger than steel and sweeter than honey".

As is the norm in international relations, the ties between countries are based upon strategic interests of each country rather than anything else. The Sino-Pak relations are also based upon such like interdependence. The initiation of these strong relations were a natural consequence of Sino-Indian war of 1962. Pakistan's desire to establish and maintain this relationship was a direct result of it's traditional enmity based upon three wars with India. In the modern scenario however, these ties between both the countries are evolving under much more interesting aspects of International and regional political dynamics than before. The analysis of these issues and what holds the future will be the discussion of my subsequent articles upon the subject. To summarize the introduction as it is the aim of this article I would say with certainty that the Sino-Pak relations will turn out to be the pivotal aspect in reshaping the global power dynamics in the future. There are efforts thus in hand by the global power brokers to weaken the Chinese commitment to Pakistan. However, considering the decades long durability of these relations and the Chinese resolve to strengthen these ties for strategic mutual benefits in complete harmony with the Pakistani state backed by the strong public opinion of both these countries, the story of this relationship has many a pinnacles to be written. In responce  to the global power brokers and their ill designs towards this strategic partnership between both these countries I have but only quote to quote by none other but the great Mao Zedong himself,

Israeli Designs-Obama In A Fix.

With the US presidential elections drawing near by the day, so is the Obama administration's drive to woo the Jewish lobby in their favour is gaining momentum. It is no secret around the globe that the Jewish support for the American politicians are essential for obtaining the much needed legitimate funding from the Jewish donors at the states. The funding sources like the Arabs who can easily spend their petrodollars to support any US Politician comes with the unbearable cost of associating with the money from countries who directly or indirectly supports the Terrorists/Islamic Jihadists. The negative media as such is simply not acceptable by any candidate in this regard. whereas, the candidate securing support of the Jewish American lobby hence it's money has always got the winning edge. So the Lobbying firms like AIPAC has the influence it has over the American Politics and the election process of the democracy,a system fundamentally flawed in this way. The US politicians in return cannot afford to shun the State of Israel backed by her powerful lobbyist and give in to their legit and illegal strategies wherein they conducted the biggest land theft in the history of mankind. The persistent failure of the US administration for continuous 8 yrs to make Israel start a meaningful dialogue to resolve the crisis with Palestinians is a clear indication of a US global Empire system held hostage by the Israeli lobby.


The current drive of the Obama Administration to convince the Jewish lobby hence Israel to re open the negotiations with the Palestinian authority is not only a step towards pacifying the Muslim vote bank at the US but also in responce to the critique by the complete Muslim World. The US needs the Muslim world's support primarily for the oil on which it's economy is so heavily dependent but it's not the only reason. Independent studies by the US think tanks and the Intelligence community associate the International Terrorism and the Islamic Extremism directly or indirectly to the Israel-Palestine issue and the unconditional support of the US for the state of Israel by default or through design. The primary motivation factor for the Global Jihad is the Israeli atrocities backed by the US Global Empire as it is portrayed in the motivational material in the Arab world while recruiting the future suicide bombers and Mujahideens. Though the US administration is least likely to be blamed for any direct involvement in the Israeli arrogance but the silence of the US or lack of real effort to stop the their major Ally's illegal occupation and continued settlements is not only criminal but also costing them a credibility deficit in the Muslim world. The US global Empire is standing on the pillars of Economic activity directly or indirectly benefiting the American Economy of which the Muslim world is a major actor. The successive deterioration of the US Global Empire's repute in the Muslim world could strengthen the extremists and force an unprecedented public pressure on the leaders to boycott the subjugation to the global empire as the case study of Iran proves.


The US global Empire's managers understand the situation better than many. The efforts to pacify the State of Israel to re open the negotiations with the Palestinians while retaining the critical support of the Jewish lobby is the Challenge Barack Obama faces which will prove to be the pivotal factor in his re election. The associated issues of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq will fade or ignite in the outcome of this crucial factor as discussed. The Obama administration will have to win the Jewish support while retaining a credible face for rest of the world. The only way forward it seems is that the Israeli govt somehow shows relaxation in their stance of land swap issues with the Palestine authority and gives way towards the two state solution. Ironically such a change in the Israeli behavior is no where in sight. With the Elections drawing near the US administration will have to decide the camp they want to be the part of. My guess would be like that any sane man in the position of Barack Obama would, opt for the fundamental election funding for him by the Jewish Lobby. So in order to do so he will let Israeli govt go the way they wished like always. But the results for such a compromise will be devastating than before. The target would be once again the US interests around the globe and the loss of precious lives both American and her allies. But in the history of Empires such sacrifices are accepted and a given. It would be interesting to see if Barack Obama prove this analysis wrong, for doing so, it requires the guts of a man who is a ruler, not a politician in a democracy dependent upon donor's funds for election campaigns...............................................     

NATO GLOC, Another Story Of The Empire's Arrogance

Last week the Pakistani government finally budged to the pressure of the US and NATO and announced the reopening of the US/NATO ground lines of communication (GLOC) to Afghanistan, critical for the International Security Assistance Force commonly known as the  ISAF in the landlocked country they are operating in. The decision was expected much earlier after the closure of these routes about seven months ago by the Pakistanis. The particular GLOC is the easiest and shortest approach to Afghanistan from the warm sea waters of the Arabian Sea. The GLOC were closed after the US attack on November 2011at Pakistan Army border outposts at the Afghan-Pakistan border area known as Salala.  Salala incident or Salala attack, occurred when U.S.-led ISAF forces engaged Pakistani security forces at two Pakistani military checkposts along the "Durand Line" on Saturday, 26 November 2011. Three ISAF helicopter gunships  and two F-15E Eagle fighter jets entered by varying estimates as little as 200 meters (660 ft) to up to 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles), into the Pakistani border area of Salala in the Baizai subdivision of Mohmand Agency, FATA at 2 a.m. local time, from across the border inAfghanistan and opened fire at two border patrol check-posts, killing up to 24 Pakistani soldiers and wounding 13 others. The two Pakistan Army check-posts were codenamed "Boulder" and "Volcano" respectively. This attack resulted in a deterioration of relations between Pakistan and the United States. The Pakistani public reacted with protests all over the country and the government took measures adversely affecting the US exit strategy from Afghanistan including the evacuation of Shamsi Airfield from where the US predator drones were operating and closure of the NATO supply line.

This ensued a tough diplomatic battle comprising more than half an year and ultimately resulted in a very diplomatic apology cum regret by the US over the incident as demanded by the Pakistanis. In fact the incident which was inquired by the US alone as the Pakistanis refused to take part in inquiry concluded the failure of communication and coordination as the primary reason of the incident. Although Pakistani govt does not accept this conclusion but within the security establishment there is a consensus that the conclusion by the US/NATO inquiry are true. The Pakistani Liaison Officers sitting at Afghanistan for the sole purpose of such like operational coordination gave the green light to this operation having faltered to earmark the GPS coordinates wrongly on their maps and didn't even bother to confirm the presence of their own troops from the Pakistan side or were not given enough time. In any case the blame for the precious loss of life is to be shared by both the sides equally. The Pakistani Military hierarchy seized the opportunity to fully blame the ISAF led by NATO and put their complete support to close their GLOC in order to save face and avoid the ongoing media trial after the discovery and operation against OBL from the Pakistani military town of Abbotabad and their sheer lack of responce to a foreign force operating deep within Pakistan and leaving supposedly unnoticed. The Military establishment were also under scrutiny about the presence of OBL in Pakistan living in their Premier Military Academy town. The Salala incident and the resultant responce gave them a breather undoubtedly. 

The reopening of US/NATO GLOC were a matter of extreme necessity for the the foreign forces as the other GLOC known as the western network was costing them more than 100 million US dollars per month as per the US secretary of Defence's official acknowledgment at Washington. The western network also heavily depende upon the Russians over a route which is best described as prehistoric and dangerously congested. the western network used the "Salang" tunnel as the critical passage which could be closed anytime by the weather or sabotage activity. Keeping this scenario in view the Pakistani leadership failed drastically once again by budging to the US pressure as expected while giving up on their demand of a substantial increase in the transit tariff. The valuable tariff could provide much needed relief to the the Pakistan's economy and  money for the social development programmes direly needed for the poor of that country in particular for the health,education reforms and providing essentials like clean drinking water and electricity. But as is the norm around the globe, the few at the top who are corruptible and takes the policy decisions best suiting their own vested interests become the pillars of the US global empires's desires. So is the case in Pakistan. the Pakistani public feels betrayed and played with once again irrespective of a government sponsored media campaign backed by the might of the US and her global embedded media. 

The US global empire could have agreed to increase the tariff in the shape of providing the much needed social reforms for the Pakistani poor by their already well established system of USAID in that country and present a win win situation for every one. But that socialistic non sense would be regarded as bullshit and crap talk by the managers of the Capitalist global empire. The arrogant behavior of the US in concurrence with her traditions will lead them to further trouble in the region. There are protests against the decision through out Pakistan. Four Terrorist attacks killing tens of security personals in last week or so alone in the aftermath in Pakistan. But this is not the problem of the US/NATO or the Pakistani rulers secured behind high walls of their fortresses typical for the third world leaders. 

Although the govt of Pakistan have announced comprehensive security for the NATO convoys but given the facts that the rugged route comprising almost thousand miles and the terrain which facilitates a hit and run ambush, the assurance of security for the convoy by the Pakistani Interior Minister is nothing but pep talk. Unlike Afghanistan, where the war lords, mostly the Talibans are paid for the security or lets say ransom for passage of these convoys there are no such groups in Pakistan. Once the convoy leave the port city of Karachi, they would become highly vulnerable to sabotage throughout the country up till Afghanistan. The political distrust resulting in the decision of reopening the GLOC on old terms would make it even easier for the militants to target these convoys. The ambush and attacks on these convoys will be even more sophisticated and severe than ever before. The truck owners despite the fact that they are being heavily paid and have insured trucks will be under intense pressure when their staff will become the casualty in these attacks. The owners will be directly targeted this time right up to their families and households for the lack of public sympathy towards their cause.

The US and her allies continues to ignore the ground realities much like they did so for example at the Vietnam or before the fall of the Shah at Iran. Turning a blind eye towards the very valid and legitimate public concerns in a client state and relying upon the flawed intelligence community of theirs is a tradition it seems at the US. But the same tradition, habit or error whatsoever one might call it always led to the disastrous consequence for the US global empire. They always recover sure by the heap of wealth accumulated by the liabilities of interests over the enforced debts to the poor of the world by their economic hit men backed by their military might but leave behind a legacy of human misery and tragedies from their errors. The human suffering continues and the ideals of freedom, democracy and the good way of life remains but a propaganda stunt by the mouthpieces of the managers of the Global Empire. My emphasis here is to re ascertain the basic flaws in the US global empire's policies where they can simply rule the situation in this particular case once again by adjusting a little in their approach towards the resolution of this conflict. 

If the US agrees to pay the tariff as per normal international transit rates directly to the public of Pakistan, it would win them the critical public support to their cause. The Pakistani society is far from the western media portrayed fundamentalist bunch as advocated by them but hard people living in a hard country. The Pakistanis are not at all out there to kill every US/western citizen as per the common perception in the west but have families around the globe in particular the western world whom they idealize. Pakistanis would love to befriend the US global empire and their citizens and serve their interests right provided the US global empire care for such a situation to be created beyond their limited perception leading to supposed arrogance as it might seem to any one. Let's accept the fact that there are no expert over payed consultants and so called highly acclaimed analysts who can exactly predict the ground realities of a particular country from sitting in their sky scrapper offices at the US and visiting the select few clients who provide them information about a country keeping their very own vested interests foremost. The US global empire needs to open up their hearts and minds in order to prevail which is surely their ultimate desire. By listening to the underprivileged in their client states will not hurt their interests a dime but win them a situation where the same will be served in accordance with their very own ideals. I know it's a tough ask from the managers of an Empire who care not for their own country mates what to talk about the their subjects but their own desires and dreams but by accepting to act like this in principle, they may lead the world to a destiny ordained upon the world by The Creator.
